The city is famous for having the largest seated Buddha in South East Asia. Changhua is ideally located to go anywhere on the island with ease. We are only an hour from SUN MOON LAKE, close to the attractions of NANTOU, and with the new high-speed almost anywhere up and down the coast! Changhua is only 20 min. from the 3rd largest city called TAICHENG.. We also have a branch in YUANLIN, Taiwan's largest "Town"- also 20 min. from the main branch.

WHO WE SEEK: English Instructors with a four-year degree in ANY field to begin ASAP, (May) 2007. Experience in teaching, coaching, or mentoring is preferred.

WHAT WE DO: LEADER is an after-school English language institute. We teach the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing to youths ages 6-18. There are also adult tutorials.

SALARY: BASE of $NT60,000/month for 26 teaching hours max. per week average. Anything over that is overtime at NT$600/ class hrs. Teachers are eligible for increases every 6 months ($33NT is approx.1USD).

OFFICE HOURS: Standard "middle" shift: 2:00 pm until the last scheduled class, which at the earliest is 8:40pm and the latest is 10:00pm. Mon.-Fri. or Tues.-Sat. Schedules. Also a 6-day BIG overtime option is available (Making NT$70,000/mo. is easily possible with a six-day option).

CLASS PREPARATION: We have set lesson plans, although teachers are encouraged to "spice up" their lessons by teaching the assigned pages in creative ways. There is some grading and report cards to do, however we also have "graders" to assist.

SUCCESS: LEADER has a particularly strong General English Proficiency Test (GEPT) training system with high passing rate.

CLASS SIZE: Classes range from 4 to 18 students, but some GEPT classes have up to 30. (However, in this case, we put in up to four teachers at the same time to drill students orally! It's actually a lot of fun and getting paid for it!).
