JOB SPECIFICATION

ENGLISH TEACHER CONTRACT FOR LEOI RAJABHAT UIVERSITY

PRIMARY REQUIREMENT
To teach English to English major trainee teachers and other undergraduate students taking English as an
elective or as required course.

OTHER REQUIREMENT
Prepare lesson in accordance with a basic curriculum. Further curriculum development is encouraged where
appropriate.

**Contact teachers are required to produce a syllabus or other project.

Develop teaching resources for Self Access Center

Assist Thai teachers, within the university, with English as required

Provide in-service training to practicing English language teachers.

Carry out classroom administration.

Assess students when required.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Working hours 8.30-16.30 Monday to Friday. This included 12 ˆ 15
hours face to face teaching.

There are 2 semester breaks per years, October ˆ 2 weeks, April/May
Months

Staff may be required to do project activities amounting to 3 -5 days in
October and up to 2 weeks in April/ May.

Average class size is 35 to 45 students.

SALARY
Contact teachers 19,020 baht per month plus 8,000 baht housing
allowance.

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
Non-native English speakers must process a Master degree in English,
Education, linguistics or an associated disciplined. Native speakers of English must process a minimum tertiary
qualification of a Bachelor degree in Education, Literature, Business Management or any associated discipline.
Should preferably have teaching qualifications or experience in TEFL, TESOL, ESL OR ESP.
Must be able to use initiative, be flexible, co-operative, and able to work with minimum supervision.
It is essential that person has cultural awareness and be sensitive to the environment in which they work.
