Honam University, situated in the city of Gwangju, is accepting applications from qualified teachers for the fall
2007 academic term.
Terms of Employment
• 18 hours university teaching hours per week.
• Required adult education morning (8:30 a.m. - 9:20 a.m.) OR evening class (6:00 p.m. - 6:50 p.m.)
compensated at 20,000 won per hour.
• 4 weeks paid vacation per year.
• Required summer and winter camps - extra remuneration
• One-year contract, (Sept 1st, 2007 - Aug 31st) renewable for 3 years based on evaluation.
• Private university pension fund owed on completion of contract.
• No severance pay.
• Flight is not included.
Salary and Benefits
• Two million won monthly salary

• Semi- furnished, modern, fully appointed, private apartment
• Private office on campus with computer
• The campus is located in scenic and historic Gwangju, Korea's fifth largest city, nestled at the foot of Mudeung
Mountain. Gwangju is renowned for its fine restaurant, lively artistic community, and historic traditions. It's a 30
minutes flight (4hours by train or bus) from Seoul.
Qualifications
• Native English speakers.
• Minimum Master of Arts in TESOL or related field, or Tourism management.

3. A copy of transcripts. You may submit copies at the beginning stage, but should be prepared to provide a
sealed one when asked. A sealed transcript is needed for visa issuance. A sealed transcript that the Immigration
Office requires, indicates that a person in charge from your university needs to sign on the sealed envelop with
your transcript.
