ABOUT THIS SCHOOL
There are two Canadian Cultural and Language Institutes in Seoul. The Institute in Jeong-dong opened in August
2001, and has welcomed thousands of students interested in learning about Canada, its languages and cultures.
About 1,000 students register for courses during each two-month term. The Institute in Gwanghwamun opened in
January 2004, with 600 students signing up in the inaugural semester.
Many students who take courses at the Institutes plan to travel to Canada to further their studies, while others
have returned from studying in Canada and wish to maintain their English skills. Students range from young
children learning basic vocabulary to business professionals working in the international marketplace. Most
students enroll in English language proficiency courses to improve their grades in school, expand educational
opportunities, or to advance their careers.

TESTIMONIALS
Working at the CEC in Korea is a great experience. It’s great to get to know Korean culture through the Korean
staff and to keep your ties with Canada through the other teachers. Everyone here is supportive, friendly and lots
of fun to work and socialize with.
